Come-back

After long way back, we have finally returned to home, but.. we have left something in Tajikistan. Not fingers, not so much money, but firm goals for the next expedition - though we have not managed to climb Marx Peak this year, we managed to explore the region well and now really know "how to". The next time, we will get the top! :-)

The last days, the news on the webpage were much less frequent, since it was practically impossible to reach satellite network in one of the valleys.

We would like to warmly thank all those who followed us! Have a nice weekend!

It was to be so beautiful...

Unfortunately, my companions had to come back earlier, and there is no chances for Karl Marks Peak this year. The last days I wander in Pamir alone, and explore the place in preparation for the next expedition. Now the place is no longer a black hole on our maps. We know what we should expect and prepare for the next time.

Greetings from Nishgar Valley,
Arkadiusz

Acclimatisation at 5300m

Today we sleep for the first time at 5300m. Each of us beats his personal high altitude records:
- Aleksander beats his personal records with each meter up
- Arkadiusz never slept at 5300m
- Tomasz never slept at 5300m without a tent, stars are not above, they are literally around

The landscapes are wonderful, we can also see Karl Marks Peak, but there is no chances for cold beer and a rear steak ;-) We would like to greet all watching TV!

High Altitude Body-Building

Today we have moved our camp to 4500m. The next 2-3 days we are going to move there whole the equipment. 120-150kg of gear and food, only 3 persons to lift, and the highest point of 4800m to pass on the way! Body building? Rather a very poor, but for sure extreme spirit hardening :D

Finally, now's the time for mountains!

After three days of traveling, adventurous even on its own, we finally reached Nishgar, the last village before the Karl Marks massif. Today in the morning, we have left the village behind, heading to Marks. The weather is good, and the spirit positive. Greetings from Pamir!

Rucksacks packed, crampons and ice-axes sharpened...

Tomorrow we'll finally start out the expedition to Pamir Mountains! All the news about our current progress you can find here, at the webpage. You're warmly welcomed to follow us! :-)

We'd like also to thank our sponsors, Yeti and Weld, for a great support with equipment!

The die is cast!

The tickets purchased, the visas received, the vaccinations made, nearly all the equipment completed... This is our first small victory! Though we have still a week to the flight, almost everything is done! :-)

On the 22th of July we will get into the plane and fly to Tajikistan. During the next 3 weeks we are going to reach the summit of Karl Marx Peak (6,723m) as the first Polish expedition, and explore Engels Peak's (6,510m) neighborhood. We will come back on the 16th of August.

Keep your fingers crossed! :-)
